I have interacted with a fair few accounts, claiming to be left wing and supportive of public transport, who appear to think…nothing should be done about this stuff. The public realm belongs to the people. The job of the state is to ensure it is safe and pleasant.

If you got rid of the tax benefits for billionaires/millionaires so they had to pay the same amount of tax as everyone else you would save £250bn. If you got rid of Asylum Seekers you would save £3bn. Silence about one, rage about the other.
