idk it’s kinda everything to me that the biggest new star in hollywood is a man of colour who is charming, confident and outspoken and doesn’t let himself be boxed in to be the model minority category that so many of his peers and outsiders would expect him to be
every celebrity that addresses heated rivalry as a beautiful love story and not just smut gets a special place in heaven
this is why i don’t take most online discourse seriously because so many queer people have praised this show and yet people on here try to convince you it’s only straight women watching
call me too woke but the heated wizardry skit also left a bad taste in my mouth for platforming harry potter in 2026 to make fun of queer people when its creator is a massive homophobe transphobe and racist
idk how they’re gonna adapt s2. obv it would only make sense for troy/harris to be part of it, but i love their story sm i don’t want it shoved in one ep or off to the side. at the same time, i don’t want that to take away from hollanov. lowk i hope they split tlg into 2 seasons

this makes me think about how they were just boys and had to hide their affection in such a formative time of their lives and how they can’t ever get those years back

i’m actually so obsessed with this kiss bc objectively speaking it’s prob not even in the top 5 of their best (mostly just bc there’s so!! many!! options!!) but they’re just so HAPPY!!! their smiles oh my god i feel so sick about it
it’s interesting how many reactors don’t realize what shane’s got going on in the shower scene. they always think ilya just randomly starts going for it. i kinda wish it was made more obvious in the show but idk how they could’ve done that without literally showing it
it’s very #strange to me that a queer show was parodied with media made by a VERY loudly transphobic and homophobic person who openly funds anti trans organizations. not a single thought went into this and you can tell not a single queer person was in the writers room

Every time I see this kiss (their 1st!) it makes me think of how well Ilya reads Shane. The 1st time their lips meet, Ilya has his hand in Shane's chin, directing the kiss. But the 2nd time, there's a little pause, Ilya's waiting for Shane's response.
people on tiktok making fun of and hating the time jumps in heated rivalry when they’re supposed to be long and quick and JARRING to really show how little time shane and ilya had together and how they had to fit meeting each other into every tiny moment they could
the idea of heated rivalry as russian propaganda is baffling. if anything, hr makes people aware of how russia treats its own citizens. ilya lived in intense fear of what would happen to him there just for being himself. it’s good for people to see that & understand how bad it is
