My first substantial pull requests to WordPress Playground were recently merged. It's now possible to run the latest commit to WordPress a few minutes after it was committed, so contributors no longer need to wait for the nightly. tinyurl.com/wp-trunk

I received my first WordPress props thirteen years ago today, on July 11, 2011. It was for the second ticket I'd filed.
It appears some people like pre-commit hooks and some people don't. It's a real shame that all development processes need to be identical and it's impossible to decide what to do based on your individual project's needs.
Currently compiling some stats for a blog post. One stat of interest is that by the time I hit publish it will be 1,234 days since my previous blog post. Oops.

I take back every bad thing I've ever said about PHP's handling of timezones. > PHP's date() function has a format specifier, 'B', which returns the Swatch Internet Time notation for a given time stamp.
I've *finally* seen the "418 I'm a teapot" HTTP status code being used on a production site. In this case, it's the Australian Government's MyGov online services portal. When waiting in the queue to access online tax services, an AJAX request responds with a 418 status code ๐
I am slightly tempted to create a browser extension called FOMO that replaces all occurrences of "WCEU" with "WCEU (don't worry, I'm sure it won't be very good)".
I seriously doubt I'd have had any of the jobs I've had since 2015 if I didn't go to WordCamp Sydney 2012.

I looks like a scam is going around re Google's TOS update later this month. It was sent to my public email alias and doesn't include my name. Otherwise it looks quite convincing. Or Google have really messed up, but I'm treating it as a scam.
