Two problems slowing down real AI applications: documents that can't be parsed reliably, and agents that can't survive past a chat session. This week we're fixing both. Tuesday, Oct 14 @ 2pm EDT: Pushing Document Parsing Frontiers with @AlvinRyanputra, @hu_yifei and Evan…
I remember migrating a medium sized project from v1 to v2 last year, it was pretty fiddly as our implementation used a lot of v1-specific stuff, but now I have the moral high ground over my friend who's still on v1 so who's the real winner here
This is the most black magic I've done since adding support for @pydantic v2 (or v1) to @FastAPI... 🧙♂️ Now it has support for both Pydantic v2 AND v1 ✨ So much work just so you can migrate that old (or big) FastAPI app to Pydantic v2, please make it worth it, migrate to v2 ☕️
Here's FastAPI 0.119.0 🚀 With support for both @pydantic v2 and v1 on the same app, at the same time 🤯 This is just so you can migrate to Pydantic v2 if you haven't done it yet, here's your (last) chance! 🤓 Pydantic v1 is now deprecated ⛔️ Read more fastapi.tiangolo.com/how-to/migrate…

The spans are really nice to have production ready logging. Definitely a must
Couple of weeks ago I identified a bug in OpenAI's API (and fixed it in @pydantic AI's codebase) and yesterday ran into an issue on Claude Agent SDK and got the fix merged into the release the same day 🫡

The future is here, just not evenly distributed. XKCD 2347 is finally getting solved by companies like @pydantic and others through @ThePledge. Let's go! 🙌

Pydantic team is reshaping python in a certain sense. They are doing an amazing work
If you are a Python developer you should really stop whatever you are doing and give a look at Logfire by @pydantic right now. @samuel_colvin and his team are really cooking!
The new SQL linting in @pydantic Logfire is a really nice little improvement. It's based on datafusion's diagnostic errors, so it's pretty powerful.

A year ago, @getsenry launched the Open Source Pledge, with one singular goal: get maintainers paid. A key pillar of @thePledge is it’s not a “pledge”, like an IOU. Rather, to join the Pledge, members come with receipts. Here’s why. 🧵

Here's FastAPI 0.118.1, with compatibility for the latest @pydantic. 🚀 This one had the combined effort of the community, the @pydantic team, and the @FastAPI team, all together. 🙌 github.com/fastapi/fastapi
Modern agent building frameworks tackle a fundamental challenge: balancing autonomous AI capabilities with predictable, reliable behavior. Different frameworks approach this balance differently, some emphasize structured workflows, others prioritize flexibility, and still others…

The same day Python 3.14 is released, we've released @pydantic 2.12 with 3.14 support. 🎉 Amazing work from the Pydantic team.
Pydantic version 2.12.0 is out! 🎉 This release provides support for Python 3.14 and deferred annotations! pydantic.dev/articles/pydan…
Feels like a small release, but these are some really nice quality-of-life fixes: • Python 3.14 support (no more string annotation hacks) • MISSING sentinel to separate unset vs None • TypedDict extra_items support • Empty URL paths now preserved properly A quiet but solid…
