It’s World Mental Health Day today I have been thinking about how we, as part of our self care, tend to ourselves and our mental health in a nurturing way. Really leaning in to giving ourselves what we need. Work in progress and we are worth it ❤️
I don't think that counsellors and psychotherapists are made through training courses and study of theories. I believe they are forged through their own personal therapy that then enables a self awareness of one's own process. Any theory is then experienced through that lens.
Intro to Psychotherapy — Session 8 “If we are to become able to be the analysts of psychotic patients we must have reached down to very primitive things in ourselves." ― D.W. Winnicott (Hate in the Countertransference, 1949)

Like so many Neurodivergent individuals, I struggle with organising daily menus & to be honest find it boring and often stressful to organise. I thoroughly recommend Real Healthy by Melissa Hemsley as it is easy to follow & gives you a time guide for each meal. #neurodivergent

Your nervous system goes into fight or flight when you rush. When you push yourself to always produce. And act like everything is urgent. Move slower through your tasks. Slow down your breathing. You’ll get more done when your body isn’t in a state of panic.
Hope plays a crucial role in the recovery process from eating disorders for several reasons, I believe as practitioners it is vital that we hold onto hope for our clients until they can hold onto it for themselves. #eatingdisorders #hope
Morning all ! I’m indoors training online today so my self-care this morning has been out in nature for a walk and getting some sun ☀️ with my 3 dogs. Lucky to have lots of mares with their foals out on the hills at the farm here at home. Make me smile every time I see them ❤️
