For those of you who aren't aware, cancelling Harvard's F and J visas does not just affect students. It also affects many, many postdoctoral researchers. And critically, it affects OPT holders. These are graduates who stayed here to work in the US, they cannot "transfer"

Breaking News: The Trump administration halted Harvard’s ability to enroll international students, a major escalation in its battle with the school. nyti.ms/3SLG7gW

This is such disastrous news for universities! I cannot imagine how many universities many go bankrupt because of this

Last year, $9B of the $35B that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) granted for research was used for administrative overhead, what is known as “indirect costs.” Today, NIH lowered the maximum indirect cost rate research institutions can charge the government to 15%, above…

We’re glad to share this research in flies. Our goal was to identify recent mutations less likely to be influenced by secondary mutations. To achieve this, we developed a technique to build PacBio-compatible sequencing libraries with limited DNA inputs. #PacBio 🧵1/n

Low-input PacBio sequencing with LILAP now generates high-quality fly genomes with just 100 ng DNA. Discover how this low-cost, amplification-free method characterizes mutational processes. Read more: nature.com/articles/s4146… #Genomics #PacBio #DNASequencing
