Time for King Charles to visit Canada, where he is head of state and has every right to go whenever he wants. I have no doubt the welcome would be ecstatic. And very symbolic. Retweet if you agree.
1. They are often illegal and generally ignored by the Environment Agency which is why you keep using them. 2. Highly diluted because you haven't sorted your system out, it's still contaminated, and groundwater caused spills are illegal. 3. You are not trustworthy.
Remember the clamour, all the bulls*t, how govt was going to save our chalk streams, the most precious rivers on earth? Today @Southernwater is dumping sewage into 8.5 miles of the River Test right into the spawning grounds of an endangered species, our Atlantic salmon Bravo 😡

Sometimes a crisis hits so hard that a country needs help from others to overcome it. That’s not one-way humanitarian saviourism, it’s international solidarity. 200 South African firefighters land in Edmonton, Canada to help fight the wildfire. Sound up 🔊

The River Itchen, a chalk stream, has been damaged by sewage discharges. There are about 200 of these rivers in the world, and most of them are in the southern half of England. Water companies dumped over 14,000 hours of sewage into England’s chalk streams last year.

Hundreds of locations are still unmonitored meaning the true number of spills is higher.
.@Feargal_Sharkey totally nails it: “We’re paid already to have the sewage system fixed…we’ve paid the regulator to make sure they’re not polluting our rivers…and that hasn’t happened..” Our regulators have failed our rivers
