When Indian women journalists were barred from the Taliban press conference, the men should’ve walked out. Standing by and still reporting ? That’s complicity, not journalism. That is also normalising misogyny. This one’s on us.
If I may add: the mindset of this bunch is pretty much aligned with the Taliban. Same kind of regressive social views; same kind of oppressive politics.
If you were to objectively name India's top 10 foreign policy journalists, 8 of them would be women. Keeping them out of a presser means keeping out the best we have. And for other journos to meekly accept the Taliban's dictum is a comment on why Indian journalism is where it is.

How dare our government allow Taliban foreign minister Amir Muttaqi to exclude women journalists & hold a ‘male-only’ news conference on Indian soil with full protocol? How dare @DrSJAishankar agree to this? & why did our emasculated spineless male journos remain in room?
