Just imagine the power of messaging if our leaders had started putting Covid response over election rallies a few weeks earlier when cases started to surge. Would have indicated to the entire administrative system where the Govt’s real priorities lay. Better late than never.
Budget reactions shd rightly pls @PMOIndia @narendramodi @nsitharaman .Govt correctly spending its way out of this crisis. 2 pay 4 it & yrs of low growth, GOI must now show steely resolve 2 transparently divest unimaginably huge public assets to avoid future economic disaster.
As I watched the US inauguration of a new President @POTUS and a woman Vice President @VP I couldn’t help but b filled with admiration by the celebration’s dignity, solemnity as well as verve & informality that’s uniquely American. Time 2 visit again after being away a few years.
It’s wonderful to wish each other Happy Diwali , and so we joyfully should as that is our deep rooted tradition , but let’s also light up today within us that 🪔 of kindness and respect for all around us and truly desire their well being too . 🙏

When the people of Kashmir valley were in pain & couldn’t leave their homes for months on end , when their livelihoods were devastated, people all over India rejoiced exuberantly at the abrogation of Article 370. Divine retribution meted out to us these last few months ?
At the start of this lockdown a terrible sense of fear & dread was instilled in us panicking people to b irrational & causing innumerable tragedies many brought out by @BDUTT . Now our leadership needs to strongly reassure and embolden citizens to return to normality safely.
I agree with @anandmahindra . Industry was going thru a bad 18 months & now revival/survival for many companies, large/small , is uncertain. Such policies come from people who hv no clue how to run a business.Hope Govt (mis)steps dont lead 2 desertification of the Indian economy
This is a valid view that I am aligned with. The calibrated restoration of economic activity will be jeopardised by the wrong disincentives. In fact we need the right incentives. This approach runs counter to the PM’s stated views about placing trust in industry.

Saw recently the film “Manto” by @nanditadas portraying powerfully yet subtly, the pointlessness and horror of partition & it’s mindless murder, rape, pillage and mass uprooting of peoples based on religion. No country shd hv to face such violence & trauma again.
So true …definitely the 🤡 bit! Btw has scientific research shown Indian audiences to actually be amused so as to perpetuate such behaviour? Hence adding to TV ratings ? Or one stereotype reinforces another ? A mystery of modern times.
