We're printing this globe (sorry flat-earthers) with topography exaggerated it'll be motorised along each axis for fun-times such as rotating in real time or using a Orion5 Robotic Arm as a pointer for various queries like "where is Mt Everest", or "where is the ISS right now"

From a few months ago: Lab updoots, we made a airtight enclosure for our 4-axis CNC machine, complete with snazzy lighting and old laptop for running the Mach3 control software, going to seal and fibreglass a bed in the bottom for collecting coolant next

We've been working on a project, Librarian. A parametric shelving system with drawers. An Orion5 robotic arm is in the centre, it can pass/retrieve drawers to a user or another Librarian We laser cut the parts at Arc Hardware Incubator, during a recent Hardware Startup Weekend

We are working on a series of updated tutorial videos for Orion5 and the simulation environment, see the first 3 here: youtube.com/playlist?list=…

We made up a script for Orion5 that will run infinitely, picking up blocks and moving them around until the end of time. The code for this is available here: github.com/RAWrobotics/Or… youtu.be/YVuA3QO1BNo

If you're a business that ships a lot of items, consider trying alternatives to plastic packaging materials, such as HexcelWrap and gummed paper tape ♻️🌏

Robot dental hygene matters. At RAWrobotics, we make sure to brush our robots teeth before shipping to customers - with Silicone PTFE grease!

Version 1.7 of the Orion5 has a number of upgrades including a better claw design The optional USB at the claw, can be used for camera or sensors In the last few weeks we sold 4 robotic arms to a local Brisbane school, one to New Zealand and one to Sydney!

These 8 new Orion5 v1.4 robots are ready to be delivered to a local Brisbane high school. 🏫🤖 Next week we'll post a demo video of the new programming and simulation environment which the students will be interacting with 🤓

New 3d printed parts for Orion5 v1.4 - the latest mechanical design revision shaves an hour or two off the assembly time, as well as making for a much more reliable product. Our 3d printer farm is currently running 24/7 to fulfill new orders.

Designed a 'quick mount' clamp to hold our robotic arms during assembly and testing. Red triangular insert holds spring loaded pins (pogo pins) which connect with the electronics inside Orion5 and flash bootloader, firmware, and complete some automated tests of the electronics.

Snazzy new gear design for Orion5 v1.2, reducing slop and backlash to essentially nothing. Herringbone gears reduce wear while allowing for much more contact between teeth.

First international customer! 🤖🇩🇪 Sending this unit to University of Bonn, Germany. Hope they enjoy the extra mech we threw in 😉 Uni of Bonn CS faculty had been looking for some appropriate hardware to teach a undergrad robotics course - when they found us online.
