I can’t help thinking that it may just be time toss out the old labels (left, right, conservative, progressive). They don’t mean the same things they used to. Maybe it’s time to chart a different course in American politics. tabletmag.com/sections/news/…
Sad thing is that Biden's is actually not a vaccine mandate per se but really a testing mandate. washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/…

“McCaulley doesn’t describe racism as a problem, but as a sin enmeshed with other sins, like greed and lust. Some people don’t like “sin” talk. But to cast racism as a sin is useful in many ways.” nytimes.com/2021/03/18/opi…
The three repulsive architects of Wednesday’s heartbreaking spectacle — mobs desecrating the Republic’s noblest building and preventing the completion of a constitutional process — must be named, and forevermore shunned. washingtonpost.com/opinions/trump…
Hence the reasonable test for conservatism that takes Barrett for its avatar: What is it doing in its policymaking to make her kind of life, professionally impressive and personally full, feel more available and affordable and imaginable for women who aren’t nominated to the SC?
If you read one thing this week, read Jonathan @BlanksSlate's tour de force think piece on the overwhelming case for police reform, and the policies that can achieve it. @DemJournal @FREOPP
Police departments have been resisting serious reform for too long. They must take steps to reorient their actions toward the betterment of the communities they serve. Read @BlanksSlate's latest: democracyjournal.org/arguments/can-…

Can the Police Really Change?
The answer is, they must—or risk the full destruction of their credibility.
Christian, if your values align comfortably with your political party then you’ve likely surrendered something fundamental to the faith. Each party has taken positions that conflict with Christian compassion or conviction. Compassion (&) Conviction #NewChristianPolitics
“If African Christians did carry African Christianity with them to North America in 1619 and subsequent decades, Black Church Studies could reasonably support The 1619 Project in reframing the narrative of the origins of the United States.” jude3project.org/blog/slavetrade
I wasn’t going to post about Josh Harris, but this is wisdom from @TGC, especially: “Our primary takeaway is that in years past our tribe was too quick to elevate gifted men who may not have had enough time to prove themselves faithful for the long haul.” thegospelcoalition.org/article/reflec…
We’ve reached a truly insane place in American culture where a celebrity has to apologize for saying that maybe a three year-old child is not mature enough to make decisions about their gender that will irreparably impact them the rest of their life. people.com/tv/mario-lopez…
Here’s a worthwhile Sunday read: “…nothing should temper partisanship more than an awareness that somewhere, on some issue, people with whom you disagree are telling a story that you really need to hear.” nytimes.com/2019/07/27/opi…
This really important. The focus on CRT however valid intentionally or not is obscuring a bigger issue.

Society doesn’t need more people who advocate and fight without love. That’s the norm and it’s pedestrian and unfaithful. Society needs Christians who can advocate with truth (&) love. #NewChristianPolitics
So true
Some Christians want a MSNBC or Fox News approved Gospel. Ashamed, they tell the Church to hush on certain issues at the behest of secular tribes. They’re discipling backwards. Thank God for leaders who speak the whole counsel of God in the church (&) in the public square anyhow
Today I hope to resume regular blogging at Pure Church (once per week) and The Front Porch (twice per week). I want to begin with something I should have published long ago: "Errata: An Apology to Some Evangelicals": thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/thabiti-…
Scripture never tells us to look inside ourselves for freedom. But it does tell us to examine ourselves. Freedom comes when we take our gut wrenching honesty and lay it at the feet of Jesus to find grace & help in our time of need. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
