Courage will now be your best defense against the storm that is at hand. — J.R.R. Tolkien

It’s a tragedy that we have raised a generation who can tell the difference between 85 genders, but cannot tell the difference between right and wrong—Thomas Sowell

Has anyone here been published in Clarkesworld, Uncanny, or Beneath Ceaseless Skies? If so, did being published there move the needle at all for your books and writing career?

If someone with Tolkien’s talent emerged today, would traditional publishing even let them through the door? Or is the industry too small for giants now? #writingcommunity #WritingLife #writerproblems

Does anyone write at the grand, mythic level of Tolkien anymore? Anything as beautiful and eloquent as The Lord of the Rings? I’m so tired of wandering Barnes & Noble only to find shallow, forgettable tales.
