look past revenue through to profit. whole time cost standing there right next to it.

minimum viable quality 🙃 ?

move fast and break things <<< stay focused, go disprove educated guess, learn from that disproof, repeat

the default vibe coded thing brings to mind the smart ui anti/pattern. gotta tighten the leash with the design test direction if i dont want the ai cruft to get outta hand and cost me a lotta tokens and bread

exciting ngl. took the code from a simple html css js web app (a lil gym calculator thing) i made for fun over ten yrs ago. threw it into claude and asked for a modernization. and in 2 minutes i had a more polished and upgraded app that would took several days to do.

thin end to end slices give us better feedback about the users' real problem. ah and now i can see the gaps better

im my own technical coach and qa team for my own vibe coding sessions where im just doing the most smdh 🙃

happy turkey day yall 🦃

the work is smoother when you can break it down, and sketch out a vision first

better metrics and simpler to measure when i slice stories thin and commit directly to trunk

a (before n after) picture (captioned with the generally accepted business goals) is worth a thousand words

yes profit is the point. but/and i'll take quality and cost cutting over speed and brute force revenue 90% of the time

been a minute since the last con x marc collab

diamonds. con x roc 🔥

technical debt, domain model anemia, same.

re: kiss "keep it stupid simple" we keep hearing the same words used differently. even a word like --- "simple" --- try it - ask ten different coworkers what "simple" means, and behold, the variety ..no wonder we all agree to "keep it simple" and yet get all manner of code

i read through it and tell you what i think it does but i dont really know what it does until i characterize it and can run it and let the code tell you what it just did

the word "craft" gets disrespected. i feel like people think it's just about origami and singalongs. they scoff at your craft. i blame kindergarten. and why did serious software delivery professionals choose such a name for serious disciplined ways of working

cutting cost as a serious business function

it's become cliche, but lemme go find out the history of this term just to triple check that im doing it justice

being interruptible and small batches go hand in hand
