I was in court y'day with @helprefugees to appeal the decision to close the #DubsNow scheme. The govt made a commitment in parliament & to me personally to welcome lone refugee children to the UK. We must honour this commitment & protect the most vulnerable children in Europe.
Today at least 100 more vulnerable people feared dead as their boat capsized off #Libya. Destroying independent #NGO search & rescue capacity in the #Mediterranean will only lead to more unnecessary deaths at sea. The human cost is horrendous. independent.ie/world-news/ove…
As more than 100 #people are reported dead only today, #EU governments continue to block and obstruct #NGOs from doing the work they are failing to do. Any deaths caused by this are now at their hands.
