People say that as a Christian, I believe in fairy tales & then I look at those who go on about the 'Deep State', Britain being taken over by sharia law, the woke conspiracy, @UKLabour being commies & cancel culture & I think 'it's not me who believes in fairy tales...'

It was a year ago today that I saw @nickcave @ Leeds. One of the most profound gig experiences I've ever had- perhaps the most profound- I went through periods the day afterwards where I was so overcome I could hardly talk.

Inspired by @MerlinTomkins & a handful of others who post loveliness & whose opinions are often salted with grace, I've decided to resume occasional posting on here. Here's some pictures taken 3-4 miles from home, this morning, on the edge of the N.Yorks moors at Swainby.

One of my friends managed to alter the contrast slightly on the picture that I took at Hexham Abbey a week ago. Toying with using it when I lead a service on Nov 23rd ('Christ the King Sunday') as it makes me think so much.

Every child deserves protection and safeguarding. We cannot let a political agenda stop us from challenging abuse, whoever is carrying it out.

In Oldham and Rochdale, it was grooming gangs of mainly Pakistani heritage. In Blackpool, white men acting alone. In Glasgow, drug addicts. Same evil, different faces. An inquiry cannot confine itself to only one aspect of this scourge. My column:- times-comment.com/gangs678

This is really honest , open & inspiring. Worth reading & meditating upon. (The 6th paragraph in particular is why I rarely post on X these days).

This morning the families of Adrian Daulby & Melvin Cravitz should be at the centre of our thoughts. They deserve our love & support. They also deserve active support from the state, shielding from media intrusion &protection from those who seek to use their grief to drive hatred.

I’m horrified by the violent attack at a synagogue in Manchester. I have been in contact with the Mayor of Greater Manchester and the Home Secretary, and would like to reassure Londoners that the Met Police are stepping up patrols in Jewish communities and synagogues across…

Manchester Synagogue attack was an act of terror — driven by hate, targeting Jews in a sacred space. It is heartbreaking. It is enraging Grateful to the police for their speedy action We will stand loudly, visibly, and unwaveringly — against antisemitism and hate in all forms.

I am horrified by the news of multiple stabbings at a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur. My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this heinous antisemitic attack. We must defend a society where people of all faiths can practice their religion in safety and peace.

I’m appalled by the attack at a synagogue in Crumpsall. The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more horrific. My thoughts are with the loved ones of all those affected, and my thanks go to the emergency…

There is more that unites us than divides us. Horrendous attack on a synagogue.

We are deeply concerned by reports of a violent attack at a synagogue in Manchester today. We unequivocally condemn this act of violence.

One other thing about yesterday. London has major problems. But we are a diverse, multicultural city. If you don't like that, fine. Then please stay away from now on. If you support Tommy Robinson and his movement find somewhere else to march. Deface your own city. Not mine.

I will reiterate my statement we released at @CCPublicLife following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump's life: “It is not just the act of violence but the spirit of violence that must be opposed. It is not just the action to harm another which must be opposed but the…

Daily Mail say today we need Farage and Reform to save the country. A reminder of the role the Mail played in getting us into this mess.

Amen. Well said.

I am deeply uncomfortable with the way the Christian faith—and specifically the prayer that Jesus taught his followers—is being used to support an anti-immigrant protest. The Lord’s Prayer was given to us by Jesus himself. It is not a political slogan, nor a cultural weapon. It…

I visited the St Peter & St Paul's church in Pickering last month: amazing 15th century murals, rediscovered in the 19th century & then painted over by a vicar as it distracted from his sermons- thankfully later uncovered again.

Balanced BBC Weather forecast: Parts of Britain will be hit by storms. Or will they? Here to discuss the issue is an expert climatologist, and, for balance, a man who lives in a giant shoe, believes weather is a hoax created by the woke mind virus, and is married to a dolphin.
