hilarious to use alchemists as your example, given how much of alchemical literature was intended as a guide to various forms of experimental (e.g. laboratory) practice for people who had enough experience with that practice to understand the metaphors

Ha! Great, explain how it works in enough detail to build it out of code. If you can't do this, what you have is a lot of ultimately blank and featureless background story, like alchemists telling very elaborate stories about gold without knowing about nuclei.

Critical support to ChatGPT for carrying out the reform western education needed but couldnt execute (abolishing homework)

ChatGPT has completely killed any assignments students need to do at home. It's so, so obvious they are all using it. Responses are similar and nobody has really bad answers anymore Starting next term, every exam, every assignment, everything will be done in class

This is possibly the single most underreported story of the last half decade of American politics. The GOP's anti-trans, pro-censorship brigade has gotten utterly massacred on a local level, and yet I see no New York Times thinkpieces chronicling how Real America hates this shit.

Here we have a mechanical monster whose body fills whole factories, and whose demon power, at first veiled under the slow and measured motions of his giant limbs, at length breaks out into the fast and furious whirl of his countless working organs.

the transition of funny numbers from 6 9 to 6 7 represents the self-referential trinitarian-bourgeois order of the 90s (apotheosized in the numogram) giving way to the old order, with its dialectical interplay between change (the demonic, 6) and eternity (the divine, 7)

there is one very good tool for teaching adolescents encyclopedic global geography unfortunately the side effects of broad based exposure to Paradox Interactive games are a bigger social danger than kids not knowing geography

One of my biggest blackpills as a social studies teacher has been discovering kids don't learn any geography. I'm at a relatively nice school today teaching 8th graders how to label a map of the US with state names. These kids are in algebra and they don't know what Ohio is
