Blockchains are not interesting technologies; to first approximation they're just append-only spreadsheets. Buying a crypto token is essentially just a huckster opening Excel and offering to sell you the cells A2:D5 for $100,000. It really is that stupid.
We went from producing nearly 40% of the world’s chips to less than 10%. That’s why I signed the CHIPS and Science Act. Now, semiconductor companies are investing hundreds of billions of dollars to bring chip production back home all over the country.
I have over 400 hours of experience playing Civilization V. Vladimir Putin should have known that when his national happiness fell below -20 he would start spawning random insurgents. Here’s what he should do next: 🧵(1/?)
I do not think it means what you think it means.
When asked if he's worried his tweets are hurting his companies Musk compares himself to Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride
every american president, but they're all cool and they all sport a mullet 46. Joe Biden
Hey Doc… Is it dangerous to stand next to nuclear waste? Here I am surrounded on all sides by dry casks full of fresh spent nuclear fuel receiving a radiation dose rate 50% lower than I would flying in a commercial airliner. Pretty simple engineering makes this hazard safe.
Great thread on the collapse of another major crypto scam. This was one of the “legit” ones. There is no legit crypto. Technobabble gave it a cloak to trick people into outright Ponzi schemes and scams. It was never a currency, it never held any value. People got duped.
1. @FTX_Official has collapsed and retail investors likely have lost billions in deposits. @SBF_FTX didn't do this alone. He had a throng of enablers. popular.info/p/the-world-se…
‼️ Joe Biden this morning, answering whether he's hopeful that Russia's war in Ukraine will be resolved: "I don’t think the conflict with Russia and Ukraine will be resolved until Putin gets out of #Ukraine".
I find it hilarious that there are still people who say "They wouldn't *really* take away Social Security" after watching what they did to Roe. Of course they'll take away Social Security. They'll smile at you when they do it, too.
Since 2014 Russia has repeatedly demonstrated that it views an independent & sovereign Ukraine as unacceptable. Russian media & officials openly spout genocidal rhetoric on destruction of the Ukrainian nation. They're forcibly deporting children. How much damn proof do you need
The Twitter deal is a warfare front, and if it isn’t blocked on national security grounds, it’s a lost battle in that war. Also would point to deep capture of US government, and very grim times ahead. Blocking the deal, and charging Musk on FARA 951 grounds is a sign of health.
It’s a shame we have to keep repeating this basic fact of deterrence, but it seems every time Putin mentions nukes, half the world loses its memory. Concessions and appeasement lead to more violence, not less, over and over.
All of you who are saying that we have to give in to nuclear blackmail are making nuclear war more likely. Please stop. When you give in to it, you empower dictators to do it again, encourage worldwide nuclear proliferation, and make nuclear war much, much more likely.

Steve showed us all, again and again, that a great idea really can change the world. Remembering him today and always.
Ukraine retaking its sovereign territory is not and never will be an escalation. Accusing a nation (Ukraine), which is the victim of genocide, of ‘escalating’ a conflict just because it didn’t decide to lie down and die is, well, confusing…to put it politely.
On the day of the invasion I said it was obviously an escalation. I've repeated this many times. As recently as Sept. 13, I said: "the attacks by Russia on Ukraine's power grid obviously constitutes an escalation" I'm not confused about what an "escalation" is. But you may be
