How I retired on less than 6.15 #Bitcoin and how you can too! Thread 🧵

I had a bear of a time figuring out how to silence "huawei video" bloatware/malware. I blocked IP ranges and domains, checked for DNS leaks, but somehow it kept sneaking by me. In the end I bricked it by blocking all "cn" TLDs.

Yes. Block subsidy funds censorship. Good thing it's designed to be a gradually slower proportion of bitcoin's block reward compares to transaction fees.

The btcd/lnd bug is exactly why we don't want multiple implementations of full nodes.

Remember: this Lightning failure is ultimately _because_ people tried to rewrite Bitcoin Core, and predictably failed to get consensus compatibility. And others used that code. Multiple implementations of Bitcoin is a bad idea. Comp-sci just isn't ready for that yet.

Due to a bug in btcd (and consequently LND), Magma will be temporarily disabled. The bug impacts our ability to monitor newly opened channels, a critical function for the channel marketplace.

My watch strap finally disintegrated, no amount of duct tape could save it Weak materials and design IMO @suunto

Why can't I importaddress of a non-descriptor wallet in Bitcoin Core v.23? Makes no sense to me that there is no backwards compatibility. Apparently v.21 was the last sane update.

I guess the seed oil thing is a new internet joke, and it somehow went over my head. Looking forward to the seed oil token ICO.

Instead of using Veracrypt or whatever to encrypt a USB drive, I wanted to try #OpenBSD's built-in tools. I struggled a bit at first, but it turns out it's very simple and I like the approach very much. So I wrote a tutorial: jsmith.info/pub/openbsd-en…

What's the fastest #OpenWrt capable beast? I'm looking for a router that can help me get as much as possible out of a 10GB/s connection.

The story here, for those who may have forgotten 2015 (it was a long time ago!) is that the NSA inserted a backdoor into a major encryption standard and then leaned on manufacturers to install it. Thread. 1/

NFTs are being wash traded. That’s when the buyer and the seller are secretly the same person. Braden buys an NFT for $6. Sells it to Karen for $6,000 and then Todd for $60,000. But actually Braden, Karen and Todd are all the same person. Then a sucker buys at $2,000.

Anybody know of similar stand-alone hardware encryption projects/products like JackPair? After reading the comments I'm not sure this one makes it out of the lab. kickstarter.com/projects/62000…
