The btcd/lnd bug is exactly why we don't want multiple implementations of full nodes.
Remember: this Lightning failure is ultimately _because_ people tried to rewrite Bitcoin Core, and predictably failed to get consensus compatibility. And others used that code. Multiple implementations of Bitcoin is a bad idea. Comp-sci just isn't ready for that yet.
