In Leeds Diocese today with CPAS connecting with 20 church leaders, hearing about new people turning up to services, people getting baptised, new youth groups, and green shoots of growth 🙌
👀 This was a stand out podcast episode for me this week.. Parents with tweens you need to listen to this. Love your thoughts .. shorturl.at/9VJnO
👋 .. while I’m here, little update from activities over last few weeks, have been: -working with church leaders -hearing stories of growth -developing new content, webinars, courses -working on Stronger 25 -networking in blockchain/web3 There’s no blueprint, but God leads 🙏
Would it be good to have ‘fact check’ subtitles that pop up to help us unpick what’s being said in the debate?
AirPods fair remarkably well in the washing machine actually..
Thinking back to 2010. You couldn’t plant a church without Twitter in those days 😆
Plan ahead Pray it through Pay it forward … 🤷🏻What else fits in the sequence?
👍 Interesting to me that this article is getting a lot of shares. In part does it tell us that we the Church are looking for more timely, encouraging, well written resources to share with our wider networks? A resourcing of ‘faith sharing’ if you will? shorturl.at/bxzGN
👀 If you’ve attended a Stronger Conference at some point over the years would love to hear how you got on? What worked? What could be improved? 👇👇
📲 Remote teams: is there anything else now? Surely all teams are on a hybrid spectrum. I am part of multiple hybrid teams, two that are entirely remote (never met team members onsite - yet!). This is standard now and has been happening for years.
Fascinated to find the example of Saddleback church in the book ‘The power of habits’. Early on they focussed on three habits/practises for their members to adopt: - 1.daily quiet time 2.tithing 3.small group membership
➡️ Leading a team, peers, those in authority, key stakeholders etc. all require time, respect, effort and prayer, and done best in the context of a life long commitment to leading self.
‘Seeing it’ is the easy bit (for the more future orientated, visionary type people). But don’t ever lose sight of it 👀
📲 In some quarters I hear about fatigue when it comes to online events. I’m also hearing about the reality of onsite fatigue. Are both true? Does it depend. What’s your experience?
➡️ Subscribing to X: Anyone I know on here on the subs plan? What has been your experience?
✅ Your next meeting: kick off with some perspective, big picture, truth, vision, the why etc. It sets the tone. Eg. at @strongernetwork trustees @ayobamiolunloyo shared a thought from the Bible. He said a few things inc. ‘Faith is the currency of heaven’. It sets the tone.
