Feels like the first night in a long time I could stand logging into Twitter.

Every time I think that this site is called X now, and realize how unsearchable it is even in one's own computer system, I am so grateful that there are infinite other things to do than be here. Here now just to migrate y'all to Bluesky and Threads.

This is a terrible, broken web site run by terrible, broken people. I will not log in again and I encourage you not to either. @elonmusk managed to out-Digg Digg

I have #MultipleSclerosis. I am turning 45 and in the best shape of my life. MS is a broad spectrum and you probably know people like me who have been living with it quietly for years.

Since Xitter's only use anymore is a window to the mind of the right, it's more than a little disturbing that they are all in favor of straight-up psychopathic murder. It would be so nice to not have a Civil War, guys, can we pull our shit together?

One time I found out my girlfriend was cheating on me because she live-tweeted her date and yet somehow I regularly see worse things than that on my feed. Seems a fitting last tweet (or X, ex, post, whatever it is). Nothing gold can stay.

It feels like the Democratic Party is sleepwalking into a potential disaster. There is no way that Biden should simply be re-nominated without a serious primary contest. He's 100 percent vulnerable to losing to Trump, and there are better candidates.

How cow I am so glad I never got obsessed with tweeting. I always felt angrier and thus a bit dumber every time I logged on for more than weather. That was either baked in at the start or we are seeing the effects of long-term exposure among the all-too-terminally online.

I guess the “good” news is that Twitter was always terrible, and the fact that it makes people tend toward their most atrocious selves was baked-in from the start.

It's really rare to see regulatory capture in real-time at the sausage-making stage.

Met with @SenSchumer and many members of Congress about artificial intelligence regulation today. That which affects safety of the public has, over time, become regulated to ensure that companies do not cut corners. AI has great power to do good and evil. Better the former.

Well, I will say this: Twitter still makes it easy enough to download my data so I can get out of this cesspool.

This was me in the first 24 … 48 … 150 hours. Now its faded into the background of when it might actually be useful.

I haven't slept in 24 hours. I bought ChatGPT Plus 24 hours and 1 minute ago. I'm Alice stumbling down a rabbit hole of testing more prompts than the program will let me. Here are 6 quick tips to maximize ChatGPT as your writing assistant: 🧵

Incredibly important story, but the responses are DEFINITELY filled with bots pumping it up — profiles have unrelated graphics with same esoteric fonts, and all the messages are same length. Unethical means for an ethical end?

A new warning from the CDC this morning. There's an increase in infections with a drug-resistant bacteria called "Shigella." @DrChrisMD has more

It must be hard to hold in your head both that Vitamin D is a miracle cure for COVID and that it's somehow amazing that only a lot of people died in Florida but not by the millions.

The only reason I come on Twitter is to watch people be mad about specific things. I am very disappointed in the lack of anger about iPad dynamic volume controls.

Today’s lesson: People who are fairly smart in one area can be mind-bogglingly stupid in another. The X axis ends in 1885! Google XKCD climate change for a chart that will knock you off your seat.

Anyone object to this chart?
