Always funny to see the Tories say they are tough on crime but cut cut cut and see it shoot up. Sustained increases and support turn things around. Austerity is a bad choice

Really good news for London. Quick fixes to cut crime don’t work, but the Mayor’s tackle and prevent approach is working and saving lives. @MayorofLondon

UK could raise nearly £2bn by taxing SUVs in line with European countries. It is hard to know why so many people want giant SUVs. They damage roads, create more pollution, cause more serious injuries and take up bigger parking spaces. Tax them. theguardian.com/money/2025/sep…

Thinktank says an ‘SUV loophole’ means UK buyers pay up to 20 times less tax on biggest models than in neighbouring nations

Personally rather prefer it, over I grew up on a private estate and went to private school. We should hear more of it not less.

I’m tired of hearing politicians say “I grew up on a council estate” as a political prop. It’s wheeled out to make them seem relatable, as if council housing is nothing more than poverty and struggle, a way to score points with working-class voters. This approach is part of the…

A banksy can go as high as 880k at auction. That's how many food banks funded. Or charities running or scholarships provided. And it just gets washed off. Absolutely mad.

Absolutely true

Two things can be true at once. Rayner was foolish in her conduct and right to resign. It’s also true she was always despised by much of the right wing press because she was a working class powerful woman. She was therefore threatening to them, because she authentically spoke for…

Just remember when the anti trans lobby said it would stop. Guess what..... Lgbt+ rights are all.under attack and need to work together to push back.

Wandsworth Tories can't even hold onto their group let alone run the council. 2 defections and counting. Only Labour councillors offers real work for the people in #Wandsworth

🚨Another defection from the Conservatives to Reform! A very warm welcome to Cllr Mark Justin, who represents the Nine Elms ward on Wandsworth Borough Council making him our 5th London Cllr 👏🏼 We look forward to working with you #Wandsworth #ReformUK #reformuk #nineelms

Pretty sure everyone in education thinks that period was horrendous and a complete mess of policy and practice

I seem to remember someone campaigning against unelected bureaucrats. I just can't remember who exactly it was 🤔

A key problem is that Britain has a Minister of Science and Technology that has never even worked in Science nor Tech. He wouldn’t get a job at any tech firm. Yet has the biggest job in tech. This is why @Nigel_Farage has said most of Reform’s Cabinet will not be MPs.
