PSA that today is National Book Lovers Day, which we think entitles all bookworms to a day off (for reading, of course 📚📚📚)
The consultation period for PIP ends next week, and Liz Kendall still hasn't addressed whether she will abandon the Tory proposal to replace monthly payments with vouchers. This is causing unnecessary anxiety for society's most vulnerable individuals. Truly appalling.
#PIP is not an out of work Benefit. C’mon media get this basic fact right
I have listened intently to my local candidates and the output from the big parties and some people have been totally ignored. Disabled people and unpaid carers have been erased during this campaign so far. Why?
One of these men could be the next Prime Minister. But neither of them mentioned disability once in the election debate. So this is our message to all parties: 📢 Disabled people must not be ignored in this election.
There are 16 million disabled people in the UK. But @scope polling shows more than half (58%) think politicians don’t care about them. With the first #Election debate tonight, we want candidates to set out how they will create An Equal Future for all disabled people.
I have a list of questions for @uklabour and @Conservatives about: PIP reform DWP attitude DWP inaccuracies MHA reform UNCHRPD findings Carer penalties Assisted dying Please give me someone I can talk to!
Disabled people deserve equality. But the reality is: Life costs more if you’re disabled 💰 Negative attitudes make life harder 🤬 Too many of us are denied the chance to work ❌ The next government must commit to changing this.
People with cancer, arthritis and amputations among 40% denied disability benefits. Contrary to what the Government say, PIP is difficult to claim, keep, appeal or renew. It's an overly complex, demanding and demeaning process. theguardian.com/society/articl…
If you see a disabled adult, or if someone discloses their disability to you... They are still an adult and shouldn't be infantilised or talked to differently just because they're disabled. And if someone is being pushed in a wheelchair, talk to them, not the person with them.

DWP’s ‘brutal’ green paper suggests replacing PIP with vouchers or one-off grants
The government is considering making it harder to claim disability benefits and even replacing cash payments with vouchers or one-off grants, as part of its latest “brutal, ideological attack” on d…

The Lib Dems No Confidence vote would force a June Election, only 24 Tories need to vote for it and it is finally Game Over for Rishi Sunak. RT if the Tories need to do it, to save themselves and the UK.
Minister for disabled people @MimsDavies shares post that branded her own government’s PIP reforms ‘dangerous’ and said ministers were 'demonising' disabled people. disabilitynewsservice.com/minister-share…
I just signed this important petition on Organise, please can you add your name? Don't strip PIP cash payments from sick and disabled people! organise.network/s/e689e0aeb255
Absolutely drained after a day of interviews on PIP reform. It’s so bloody infuriating to have to keep explaining: this is NOT an unemployed benefit; it is NOT easy to claim; and disabled people are NOT living the life of Riley on this benefit. Far from it.
Proposals to curb Personal Independence Payments (PIP) and change how people are assessed as unfit for work are dangerous. Disabled people and people with mental health conditions must stop being seen as the problem by this government. Share your views, and sign the petition to…
We need to band together to make sure it doesn't happen. Register to vote guys.
Dear 7 million disabled people in the UK. Please register to vote and remember today. Rishi Sunak has just stood there at a podium and declared all out war on you if you vote him in again. 🙂 #RishiSunak #disabled
