Broadcast was not bad, pretty much what I was expecting, nothing special, only thing I’d say is it would be nice to have an effects mic on the crowd. It’s easy to feel disengaged after a while when it sounds like you’re in a comms booth. But solid night overall 👏
“Set the league and the sport back decades..” 6 months later Matildas go bang, crowds on the up since Covid (where ⚽️ really took a hit) And there’s a national second tier kicking off tonight. It was a dark day but spare me. Only real affect it had on anything was Vuck crowds.
Seen a lot of revisionist history here so let’s get some things straight. This is the darkest day in Australian football and the “fans” pictured brought the game into disrepute, setting the league and the sport back decades.

Also when and if they return, I beg they rebrand. “Western” has to be one of the least relatable football club names on the planet.
Western United will not play this upcoming season, but there are pathways for it to re-enter the A-Leagues from Season 2026/27 onwards.

Feeling for the fans, staff and players. Bid was a failure from day dot that was built on nothing but lies, but it’s still tough on those affected. Hope everything works out for everyone involved.

Imo the only trophy we were probably able to win this szn, looking gone in the first round zzz. Don’t see us making a 3rd granny in a row, and so far the squad doesn’t look strengthened on last year. Hope I’m wrong
