this is why 2026 is the friction maxxing year. taking the long route. going to the friends birthday party you wanted to skip. writing the grocery list yourself. facing hard conversations. choosing the less convenient route that may be slightly harder but for a good cause.

It increasingly feels as if people are unable not just to read but to reason
People say AI is a magic shortcut to creativity & success. I’ll tell you the real secret and it’s voraciously reading, being interested in everything, being diligent in the pursuit of learning, paying attention to the interior lives of others & keeping a heart open to the world.
In the next two years, AI data centers will not only cause electric bills to soar, but are expected to generate the same emissions as driving over 300 billion miles — or 1,600 round trips to the sun from Earth. We need a moratorium on the construction of new AI data centers.
the “you should love ai” line is best outlined by a recent joe rogan episode. he LOVES ai music and always tells guests this. a guest pushed back on him saying “i’ve heard ai podcasts are amazing too” and joe rogan immediately pushes back. losers love it until it comes for them
i have a wonderful generative tool. it's called my brain
people think we are too harsh on usage of gen-ai? i don't think we are harsh enough. this destructive technology is stealing jobs, damaging the environment, pushing propaganda, hiking prices, jeapordizing our own health and safety even. there are no benefits in supporting it.
has anything good happened recently. like at all.
