It was great one day Crohn’s and colitis Nepal conference with an opportunity to learn from leaders in the field of Inflammatory bowel diseases. The society also launched an IBD handbook in Nepali language which is expected to be beneficial to patients and treating doctors alike.

I agree that PNLPLA3 has the potential to be a very useful tool—allowing us to keep a close eye on high risk patients. Knowing risk can also potentially be motivating for the patient. There is some fear that a negative test will give the “go-ahead” for unhealthy lifestyle.

Today I spoke with our hospital’s genetics director about including PNPLA3 genotyping as a routine test for personalized medicine. The evidence is overwhelming. 👉 Do you have it available in your hospital? If not convinced, check the figure below ⬇️
