We have been trying to understanding the circulatory system in #stedwardsscience in a more active way outside this afternoon ☀️
Yesterday in Science we enjoyed learning about the effect gravity has on an object. We particularly enjoyed learning about the mass and weight of an object using. #stedwardsscience #scienceweek
Class 4 have investigated the effects of air resistance by making their own parachutes. #stedwardsscience
What a fantastic Science Day we've had to celebrate British Science Week 2025. We completed 4 different activities in our house teams linked to this year's theme of 'Change and Adapt'. Well done everyone! @ScienceWeekUK #BSW25 #stedwardsscience
Another challenge today for STEM Club... Can you build a house for a little pig using marshmallows and spaghetti? Fabulous efforts! #stedwardsscience #stedwardsSTEM @STEMLearningUK
Science club is BACK! At Widnes Library this coming Saturday (16th)🧪Get ready to have the slime of your life as we investigate liquids & solids in the messiest possible way 🤪 Join us at 12pm, no need to book. Recommended age 7+ #learninlibraries KL
Our first STEM after school club today was a huge success. Our challenge was "What can you build with one cup of Lego?" We had some great efforts. Well done Year 1 and 2. #stedwardsscience #stedwardsSTEM @STEMLearningUK
Today in Science we went on a 'tree walk' 🌳 We were looking at the leaves on the trees and comparing them. We then decided if the trees were deciduous or evergreen. Deciduous trees have 'crumbly and dry leaves' whereas evergreens are 'smooth, waxy and thick' #stedwardsscience
We have been making weather mobiles in science. We have learnt all about the weather in each month and season. #stedwardsscience
In our Science lesson, we have been learning about light. We have used a light meter to measure light in lux. We then looked at reflections and how light reflects off different surfaces. #stedwardsscience
In our science lesson today we learned about the functions of a skeleton. We sorted animals into those that had an endoskeleton, an exoskeleton or no skeleton at all (invertebrates) #stedwardsscience
We have continued our science topic of Mixtures and Separations by producing our own Mixtures. We have also completed research on what Mixtures make certain things. #stedwardsscience
The children in Science Club enjoyed choosing items from around the classroom and outside, then made predictions as to whether they would float or sink. They enjoyed testing the items to see if their predictions were correct #stedwardsscience @sciencesteddies
In science we have been learning about different animals. Our question today was ‘Are birds herbivores, carnivores or omnivores?’ We created bird feeders with the help of our friends in Class 5. @StEdwards_C5 #stedwardsscience
Class 1 have done an amazing job of I’d identifying pets and their basic needs. We talked about which types of animals might be kept as pets and sorted them into 2 groups 🐓🐰🐟🕷️🐳🐍#stedwardsscience #stedwardsscience #stedwardseyfs
We have been investigating 'Are some sunglasses safer than others?'. We tested different sunglasses and measured how much light they let through. #stedwardsscience
Our big science question today was: ‘Do taller trees have wider trunks?’ #stedwardsscience 🌲🌴🌳
In Science Club we made paper helicopters and tested them to see how long they took to fall from a height #stedwardsscience #scienceclub
