EXCLUSIVE: The son of former Carolina Panther Rae Carruth is thriving in Charlotte, 25 years after the shooting of Chancellor Lee Adams’ mother shocked America and sent Carruth to prison. My update on the murder, the miracle and Carruth (now a free man): charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/car…

This is really great from @scott_fowler. He details the job and life of Miguel Vargas: the man charged with sustaining #Panthers traditions, beginning #CharlotteFC ones and just in general bringing joy to Bank of America Stadium.

"I was about to cry, honestly" -- that's what one prominent Panther said about Xavier Legette's TD catch vs. the Miami Dolphins Sunday, which started a successful comeback from 17 points down. Why was the play so significant? charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/car…

Down 17-0 in the second quarter, the Panthers mounted a fierce comeback at home Sunday, pulling off an unlikely 27-24 upset of the Dolphins that had all sorts of weird and engaging twists and instilled what all teams need: Hope. For @theobserver - charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/car…

Panthers 27, Dolphins 24 (final). Panthers overcame a 17-0 deficit to win. Dowdle finished with 206 rushing yards.

Dowdle has the 3rd 200-yard game in Panthers history. He's up to 206 yards; DeAngelo Williams has the record with 210.

If Panthers win this game, they will tie the team record for biggest deficit overcome in a win (17 points today and previously).

Crazy game, as these teams are suddenly matching TDs. Waddle's 46-yarder puts Dolphins up 24-20, and then Young marches Carolina downfield, with big plays by Dowdle and Horn and TD pass to Evans. Carolina up, 27-24, with 1:59 to go.

Panthers, once down 17-0, have taken an unlikely 20-17 lead on a Rico Dowdle 1-yard TD run. Dolphins quickly at midfield, though, with 6 minutes to go in an NFL rarity today: a 1 p.m. game that's actually close.

Panthers D keeps giving offense a chance, as Dolphins have to punt for fifth straight time. Carolina still down, 17-13, w/ 10 minutes to go and with 1st-and-10 at own 15. No TDs in 2nd half by either team so far.

Having a local guy in the booth for this Panthers-Dolphins game really paying some dividends. Eric Collins has now mentioned both the Gaffney water tower and the Charlotte 49ers (in context of a 49-yard FG made by the Panthers).

It's the first NFL game Collins has ever called, @JimmyTraina, but we're very familiar with him in Charlotte because he calls every Charlotte Hornets game just like this. The man is a Queen City treasure.

I’ve got all 6 games up, yet the sound hasn’t moved off the Dolphins-Panthers game because play-by-play guy Eric Collins is calling it like it’s the Super Bowl. Screaming and yelling and losing his mind on every call. It’s amazing.

Panthers cut Miami lead to 17-10 on a 35-yard Fitzgerald FG at the buzzer. Carolina has found its way back into this game after a horrid start; Panthers also will receive the 2nd-half kickoff.

One of the better drives of Bryce Young's career there. Incredible play to get free of Chubb on fourth down to find a diving McMillan for 20, and then a dart to Legette (?!) for a 7-yard TD. Long way to go, but less embarrassing now, as Panthers close the deficit to 17-7.

Why are the Panthers not double-teaming Waller?! 5 catches for 78 yards and a TD, and we've still got 10:48 left in 2nd Q. Dolphins 17, Panthers 0. Young has 2 TOs; Dolphins don't have Tyreek; doesn't matter. What's going on in Charlotte right now may get somebody fired.

Bryce Young has had 2 turnovers in 3 plays (FUM, then INT). Dolphins, already up 10-0, looking for more. Young is playing his way straight toward the bench if he can't get it going. That ill-advised deep ball, incidentally, was headed toward Legette in double coverage.

It shouldn’t be a Player on this team with NIL money outside of 1-3 players. My Gawddd this is horrible! Bring back $400 Meal Checks! No way this is the talent getting paid. Is it Coaching or Talent I honestly don’t know. 😂😂😂 #HelpUs

Whew - not kidding about the UNC part. I have seen a lot of P4 college defenses play over the years - the Belichick version at UNC is easily one of the worst.

Halftime: Clemson 35, UNC 3. A dominant first half for the Tigers against a very bad Tar Heels team
