Finally a win in Australia! A gritty victory for England who have some pride to take away from the series. Can we start again now we’re ready to go? Two day test matches aren’t good for the game though. At least the sleep pattern can go back to normal! #Ashes
No doubt @CricketAus will be releasing another statement after this test saying how good a test wicket it is 🤦🏻♂️ Yes there’s been some poor shot selection but 16 wickets in a day for the second time this tour is unforgivable. Two/three day test incoming again. #Ashes
It’s crazy to think Wolves sold Raul for £5m as fans decided he was finished 🤦🏻♂️ The current Molineux strike force couldn’t hit a cows backside with a banjo! #WWFC
England have battled hard today but can’t see how people are saying it’s been a great day for us, Aussies going to get well over 300 here. Not helped by another soft third umpiring decision. #Ashes2025
This already has the feeling of an innings defeat given how we struggle to bat for any kind of length and in partnerships like the Australians have. #Ashes
I’ve been watching England play in Australia for 25 years now and all bar one series have been the same. They give us a bit of hope of something but then get absolutely pummelled. We know this session is the best time to score but that was a shambolic bowling effort. #Ashes
This is the worst Wolves squad I’ve seen in my lifetime. Absolutely nothing says team about this set of players. Yet supporters are paying the highest ticket prices ever for absolute dross. People say they look forward to the Championship. This squad stinks of double dip. #WWFC
Classic England in Australia once again. They get your hopes up, then the home side cruise to victory. The Aussies see this off for the loss of four or five wickets at most. Seen it so many times over the last 25 years of watching Ashes games down under. #Ashes #AUSvENG
We’ve batted pathetically this morning (afternoon over in Australia) but what’s the point of having technology if you’ve got incompetent umpires making decisions like that. The spike is nowhere near the bat or gloves on the screen 🤦🏻♂️ #Ashes #AUSvENG
0-6 🥴, 0-3 🙁, 4-2 😀, 0-3 🫣 Normal service resumed, and one that was 100% expected, on the trip to Stamford Bridge last night. Nothing saves Wolves this season and that 4-2 victory at the start of 2024 seems a long time ago now. #WWFC
Wolves are rotten to the core. Feels so much like the last time we went down and it tells you everything when the squad is so much worse than the one which came up in 2018. Relegation confirmed in October with the record low points total in serious jeopardy 🤦🏻♂️ #WWFC
If you didn’t know, I’m a bit of a history geek, so thanks to @scott_smith9 for bringing to my attention that this bridge in Deventer featured in the 1977 War film ‘A Bridge Too Far’ directed by Richard Attenborough & starring Sean Connery & Michael Caine among others🇳🇱🎬
Haven’t won in the league since April. People will say there’s a long way to go, but Wolves are done this season. Add the R next to the name. And to be honest it’s what those at the very top deserve for poor decision after poor decision and a lack of quality replacements. #WWFC
The Pitmen are back on the road tonight to face Whitby Town in the NPL Premier Division. ⏰ Kick off: 7.45pm 📍 The Towbar Express Stadium, Whitby (1/2)
Such sad news. Steve, or Wynner as he was better known as, was a top guy & coach during his time @Hednesford_Town. Always remember him having a baguette on the team coach & sneaking off for a cigarette at every pick-up point. But most importantly he talked a lot of sense. RIP
IN MEMORIAM: It is with sadness that we share news with you of the untimely death of our former fitness coach, Steve Wynn. Story: telfordunited.com/news/in-memori…
As we mark #Arnhem80 here’s a piece of airborne history close me in Watford. Just down the road in Rickmansworth is Moor Park, which was the home of the 1st Airborne in 1944 and where elements of Operation Market Garden were planned. A plaque makes reference to this. #WW2
On the 80th anniversary of the start of Operation Market Garden it feels right to share this thread again ⬇️ #Arnhem80
As we today mark #Arnhem77 here is a short thread about one casualty of Operation Market Garden and how fate would play its part in me taking an interest in his story. In 2009, on the 60th anniversary of the operation, I randomly scanned this article from our local newspaper.
