The best thing to do is restart your computer, and it should begin working again. Hopefully a fix from Apple will come soon.
If a Screeny video recording leaves u with nothing but a solid green screen, this is a Mountain Lion OS bug :( Even QuickTime is affected.

If you are on Mountain Lion and Screeny will not stop recording after you start, please let me know your computer’s specs. I can’t replicate
