After we learn a new sound it becomes the “secret password” for entering the classroom, allowing for several extra daily repetitions. The kids ❤️ it - and don’t worry about the ones who forget; if they don’t copy the child in front of them I supply the sound for them to repeat.
If I'm a superintendent, I encourage those with leadership potential to attend one of the sessions. If I'm an aspiring school leader, I'm first in line. The results @NELA_NCSU graduates produce are remarkable.

Money is there there to do what’s right for public schools. Just finished working with the committed to every student @OrangeCoSchools Bd of Ed. I shared with them that the principal is the key to making it work. He/she recruits, selects, develops & retains quality teachers.

In lieu of an “icebreaker” to launch the new school year..think about having each grade or team in your building have time to share, put their accomplishments together, share them with colleagues, students, parents and the community. Would celebrate teacher voice !
