My dear father, Bob Joudry, passed away at the end of August. It was a sudden and devastating loss for our family. Dad was a military man, joining the Canadian Armed Forces at age 17 and serving for 42 years, 70% of his life.

The United Kingdom has gone from the sun never setting on the British Empire to banning free refills of pop.

We’re pleased to report that the Lake George wildfire is now being held. That means the fire is not likely to move as long as conditions don’t change. It not yet under control, it could still grow beyond the estimated 288 hectares. All evacuees can return home tomorrow.

You’d be hard pressed to find anyone louder and prouder as a Cape Bretoner, or a greater supporter of the PC Party, than Alfie MacLeod. I’m thinking of my friend Alfie as he continues his courageous battle against cancer.

Gail Shea was certainly a proud advocate for her home in PEI, but also for the entire Atlantic region. I always admired the respect she earned across the federal & provincial conservative parties, but especially from those who worked alongside her. A very sad loss.

Another smoking hot day ( 37 degrees) in NS. Praying for rain & for those in harms way, due to fire & excessive heat. Let’s all do our part to be safe & check in on neighbours & those who are vulnerable.

And in case you still think that the strict rules are not needed here, we just got an alert warning people to stop flying drones over the fire. How stupid can people be?

Water bombers are game changers. This video sent to us shows a big bomber taking on water in HRM, filling and flying which keeps momentum going as crews continue to tend to the forest fire at Susie Lake.

God bless those pilots and first responders on the ground. 🙏🙏

Our view from a top Mainland Common from our @eastlink crew of the fire that's in behind Bayer's Lake and the fight to put it out. @McgrawCory and @eastlinkTim up on the lifts to get the shots for us

I've had a coding project on my to-do list for a year plus, but struggled to get it done with Gemini or ChatGPT. @Grok was able to pull it together, with all the functions I was looking for, in an hour. Really impressive upgrade.

Grok wins hands-down at coding. It wasn’t close.

Kinda mangled what you wrote @FredDeLorey but I 100% agree. We have 3 ways to deal with possible fire disaster - prevent it from happening, mitigate while it's happening or finding liability to recover losses after it has happened. I know which one I'm leaning into.

"Those who are complaining about this the most are louder the farther away they get from the smoke." Lisa @lraitt tells @MooreintheAM that she and her fellow Nova Scotians understand the need to restrict people from entering the woods as wildfires burn across the Maritimes.
