OOF! It's Calgary with an OT goal and the 5-4 win, 1:05 into OT. A shot from the point trickled behind Kokko and was poked in by Rory Kerins for the @AHLWranglers victory. It's another point for the Firebirds, but greedily, two would've been nice.
It will be overtime at Acrisure Arena! Tied 4-4. The Firebirds and Wranglers will both earn a point and will play 3-on-3 for that coveted second point as they head to OT. Very even game from start to finish, CV has slight shots on goal edge at 34-31. Here we go!
Firebirds update: The Wranglers scored an early third period goal to take a 4-3 lead, but the Firebirds got the equalizer when Ben Meyers redirected a Ty Nelson shot into the net. There is 7:19 left in the game and we've got a 4-4 tie. Fun stuff at @AcrisureArena this afternoon.
Firebirds update: Both teams scored a power play goal in the second period and after 40 minutes it's Firebirds 3, Calgary 3. We've got 20 more sure-to-be chippy minutes left in this rivalry game.
After one period, it's a wild one as the Firebirds and Wranglers are tied 2-2. The moment of the first period was a fight between the Firebirds' Kaden Hammell and Calgary's Alex Gallant. Hammell was the clear winner on all scorecards and asked the crowd for some love after. Wow!
TY NELSON ARE YOU KIDDING! 40 seconds into the game, Nelson hits an absolute laser from the blue line that drew more surprised "Oh dang"s from the crowd than cheers. Wow! Firebirds 1-0 over Calgary in an instant

Normally you don’t want your Vegas hotel room to overlook construction, but this is kind of cool seeing the future baseball stadium of the Vegas A’s. You can see the arc of the outfield, but that pitcher’s mound seems big.
