My YM’s advisor was arrested by the FBI for producing child pornography with his daughter. It came out that the bishop knew and was helping him “work through it.” I’ve never spoken about it. But right now it needs to be shared. It’s happening as the AP reported.
In 2020 I prosecuted an Elders Quorum president for sexually abusing a teenage girl. At the sentencing, I received letters of support from his church leaders. A news report of the sentencing wrote:

man you’d really think that 2021 would be the year where someone in byu admin had a “are we the baddies?” moment while asking to be allowed to discriminate against queer people in… checks notes… admissions, mental and physical healthcare, and “access to classes and schools”

"BYU had a religious exemption from sex discrimination laws" sure says a lot about the religion that school represents.
In the early days of the @Ch_JesusChrist, general Relief Society leaders controlled their own budget, curricula, and magazine, had direct access to the prophet, and operated the humanitarian program of the Church.
Oof. Tried to have a conversation about Holland on Facebook and it just ended in me being disappointed in how brainwashed my loved ones are. They are so hateful and it’s sneakily disguised as love and obedience. :(
If you are a Latter Day Saint wrestling w/ a lot of discomfort over unsettling issues in the church, you’re not alone. As one who bush-whacked my way out of the church in the public eye, I’m on the other side of that mountain now. And everything is BEAUTIFUL here. You will be ok.
I’m literally sick over it
I just can't get over LDS leaders calling for more "musket fire," & publicly punching down on a brave BYU student who stood up for what was right, in the midst of surging right-wing extremism toward marginalized and oppressed groups. This is beyond irresponsible--it's dangerous.
What's going on in the church? Haven't been paying attention to it because I'm too busy sinning
