The public response to my tweet about the death of the Queen was extraordinary. People really do want better information. @EAPCvzw invited me to ponder via their blog. Here's the post: eapcnet.wordpress.com/2022/10/25/hid…
A prime minister worth £730m and a chancellor worth £14m are about to tell people on the minimum wage why austerity is good for them.
So the bottom line is, the richest person in parliament is set to become prime minister and force the poorest people in the country, who are already struggling, to pay the price for his party's mistakes. Because all they care about is the bottom line. #EnoughisEnough

Stunning and devastating opening from Newsnight tonight. Harsh, yes. Media students (and current broadcast journalists!) take note: your edit is nothing without the right choice of music. And oh boy this is quite the choice.

There's a reason you always have room for dessert - your stomach expands in contact with sugar.
Great thread.
Oh look it's 'brits don't eat spice' season. 1) We have millions of people from diaspora communities who very much do eat spices AND are every bit as British as me. 2) The concept of British food as bland comes from Victorian/Edwardian middle/upper class snobbery. 🧵 /1
Care for people affected by dementia is too often insufficient and dehumanizing. We can and should do better.
I’ve just watched this and I can’t hold back the tears @alzheimerssoc @theresecoffey Why are people affected Ted by #dementia still having to live like this?
Nobody is better at impersonating how presidents and PMs walk than Stefan Leonhardsberger. His Macron, Johnson, Trudeau and Zelensky are all on point.
