I have now been working with Shopify templates and custom API stuff for a few months... and I’m starting to not hate it. It’s powerful, easy to work with, mostly and... I need a holiday.

Weird React bugs are... weird. Time to sleep.

Engineer: “I can write that code.” Senior Engineer: “Should we write that code?” Staff Engineer: “We should delete that code.” Principal Engineer: “Delete all the code.”

...annnnnway. This is not my writing account. This is my code account. Ummm.

Working on site browser support. Stats over 3mo? 13k users with IE or Edge. 1.4 million using Safari/Chrome/Android. @MicrosoftEdge what can I say?

Spent the last few days finishing up a tiny customer portal web app in react/express. Was fun to do a little server side stuff for a change, too.

Painful day dancing with nginx, express & react.. but I now have a nice deploy tool chain and a fast web app. Now to build out the last bits of functionality...

Generating Excel worksheets from React is… uh... ok

Anyone doing audio/streaming stuff on a Mac, keep well away from the Big Sur beta for now. Internal changes means all the audio routing stuff capture/audio mixes uses simply won't work. Developers need time to catch up and they don't even have test kit yet.

All the weird things that break when you upgrade to Node 10 from (ancient version of node). The shock. Ah, those long forgotten VHosts lurking in the corners of your company cloud.

I love React’s Lazy & Suspense. Because so am I, and anything that lets me load on demand in a few lines... yup. Take this cart I’m building—lot of custom code, but no need to pull that fat payload in until users ready to checkout. Halved load wait with 5min work.

Interesting day trying to get @stripe’s checkout components working in React. Few interesting gotcha’s—like having to proxy local dev as Stripe won’t work without trusted SSL cert.
