As per a TOI report, only 2.2% of Indian adults pay income taxes, while France is at 78.3%, USA at 50.1%, Germany at 61.3% and UK at 59.7%. The govt should apply flat x%(for eg 10%) tax above 7 lakhs for everyone. No exceptions what so ever.
