GM & Happy Halloween. Wall - Chris Torres’ “Magical Nyan Cat” is perfect for tonight’s guests. This screen is visible when looking through the windows by the front door. Floor - don’t forget to get your treats, the little ones start coming before sunset. @PRguitarman
GM! Wall - Mikko Lagerstedt’s “Fractured Light” examines silence & beauty, with night stars reflecting off a patchwork of early season ice, with trees burdened with the first snowfalls of the year. All illuminated by the green aurora borealis. @MikkoLagerstedt
GM. Wall: Polychromatic Sea - the first piece from Intrepid’s ‘Triptych 2’ series shows his boat (family home during COVID) set amidst beautiful blues and greens of the ocean, with the gorgeous greens and browns of the shore close by. Still minting. @intrepid_p
GM! Foreground - if you are lookin, it ain’t cookin. Wall - two physicals from Ilan Derech’s ‘Wabi-Sabi Syntax’ series. My framer put these works on floating mounts protected by museum glass. Both are displayed in a prominent part of my home. @IDerech
GM. Wall - one of my favorite B&W photos, from W. Eugene Smith’s groundbreaking “Country Doctor” series - one of the first photo essay pieces - this by Life Magazine. I think the smirking little girl in center frame steals the scene. @Smithkev007 @QuantumNFT
GM! Wall - Justin Snead’s “Transitory Filaments” is a miraculously timed shot capturing unpredictable power and beauty of our natural world. This is a crowd pleaser for my normie friends on the large screen, with amazing details at ground and sky level. @DreadlockTvlr
GM! Wall - Lori Grace’s “Outflow Dominant” the brilliant orange & yellow setting sun illuminates the clouds, all framed by a slate blue evening sky. @lorigracewx Grant Yun’s surreal interpretation of Marfa circa 2023. Museum glass with white frame @GrantYun2
Good evening. Ilan Derech’s “Natsukashi” is always a crowd pleaser. A boy is coming to pick up one of my daughters for a date. First time this has happened. Did not know what to show, so I figured I would get the boy’s open on this piece. @IDerech
GM. Out with with old ETH all time high is easy. This is much harder. Happily, there will find a new home with lil smooches in the 5 to 7 year age bracket.
GM! Wall - “Race Rock Point” from Robert Downie’s Intrepid Ocean season two. Taken at the entrance to Long Island Sound, this piece blends rock, stone and sea against a background that portends the bad weather that this structure was built to warn against. @intrepid_p
GM! Right screen - Ilan Derech’s “Satori” series, my piece inspired by the works of artist Clifford Still. Such a unique blend of color and motion. Left - A stunning self portrait from Patrick Nwachukwu is a crowd favorite for sure. @IDerech @patricksartz_
GM! Great times for Crypto. Wall - EL Panda’s advice to stake can still be heeded. See dolphins reflecting in sunglasses - not sure there will be a “flippening”. Small - my EV Maverick- one of my favorite airdrops - this from the old ETH Trader Reddit. @EVMavericks
GM, a Diptych from Ilon Derech’s “Wabi-Sabi Syntax” series. Wabi-Sabi re-tasks old & worn items. Here, Derech uses AI on his old photos to blend perfection with imperfection. Wall - human form & textures set against nature. Small - a beautiful Koi pond. @IDerech
GM. Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s “David” took the artist 8 months to complete - he finished this stunning work in 1624. This is the only biblical subject Bernini did for Cardinal Borhese. This piece alone would justify a trip to this museum. @GallBorghese
GM! Wall - Guillaume Kollibay’s ‘The Opening’ explores the tiny air bubbles trapped in ancient blue ice. The intricate details & gorgeous combination of blues & white display beautifully. This airdropped to collectors of his “A Glacier’s Breath” series. @Guillaume_m_k
GM! Wall - “Flow State” the third in a series of mints from Intrepid shows his former home framed in the glorious blues and teals of a tropical reef, crowned by a blue sky and a few clouds. IRL my screen looks far better than my lousy video. @intrepid_p
GM - Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s ‘The Rape of Proserpina’ is the first exhibit as you enter the Borghese Gallery. The high ceilings and exquisite surroundings frame this complex and beautiful piece, where Bernini turns marble into human emotions and textures almost like no other.
GM - the Vatican’s unparalleled art collection is so large that many works are not on permanent display. Here are some drawings and, I think more importantly, hand written letters, complete with decorative patterns (Doodles really) from Henri Matisse.
GM! Pro tip for the Vatican City line up. Gates open at 7am. Get there an hour early. Bring your coffee for the long wait. Gonna take time for them to check every passport.
