A huge thanks to all our Customer, @PurePartners and Alliances for attending #PureAccelerateRome. @PureStorageIT - A huge thanks to @MaxAngionitweet for entertaining us! @rdeenik @siliconcto @annaglau91
It’s that time again, the annual decloak of next-generation AFA technology at #PureAccelerate conference - this year in Vegas. Bigger, faster, more sustainable, more secure - relentless engineering excellence Starting the journey with a broken VOD movie system, long trip ahead…
Day 29: welcomed by the snow-capped hills around Dublin, I’ve made it back home after circumnavigating the world with my bike. Last week at SKO with the entire @PureStorage GTM team was spectacular and a great way to finish off the trip #homeward
Day 22: wet and windy departing Queenstown as I head to the US but still striking scenery. Flying ZQN-AKL-DFW-MCO taking me to Orlando for the first @PureStorage in-person company kickoff since 2019. Will be great to see everyone again IRL
Day 21: ride day 7; Queenstown to Glenorchy by the lake, another set of soaring peaks and amazing glacial scenery to finish the 1000km trip from Christchurch. Next stop USA tomorrow, but I’ll definitely be coming back to this remarkable island
45 riders stopped at the Makarora Country Cafe for lunch yesterday on the way to Wanaka, it was the best lunch we’ve had in New Zealand and that’s a high bar. If ever passing, really worth calling in
Day 17: ride day 4; we’re at ~500km into the 1,000km ride, reaching Haast Pass today in the rain. Will share some photos once there’s enough internet bandwidth to upload them. South Island is stark and beautiful, with glaciers, melt rivers and steep cliffs - 💯% worth it
Day 13: Christchurch, and as with all the classic sagas, the protagonist and their lost love are reunited at the end. Bike arrived a few hours before I did - big thanks to all the @Qantas folks I talked to in PER, SYD, AKL, WLG and CHC who helped get us back together
Day 12: last day in Wellington, seen some superb sights over the last couple of days in the home of LOTR. The bike has physically moved in SYD to a jetty, which I take as a good indicator of being loaded on a plane so 🤞🤞
I can confirm that absolutely no digital editing occurred during the process of taking of this screenshot
Day 11: I’m in Wellington, NZ and my bike is not. Having done so well recently, @Qantas has held my bike in Sydney for another day and it’s still 1,400 miles west, happily pinging in the Intl terminal. Three days until the big charity ride starts 😬
Day 10: for those following the saga avidly, pleased to report that my AirTag briefly pinged in Singapore overnight so we have movement. The @Qantas baggage portal update now thinks I’ll get it back this week in CCH - a text or email would have been nice though…
Day 8: “Baggage included in every fare” but not in every airplane apparently How it started: How it’s going:
Another day of learning about tech challenges in a fascinating, fast-moving and fiercely competitive industry vertical. Thanks for the guided tour @RocketLab - turns out that sometimes it actually is rocket science…
Day 7: the only thing #MTB riders like less than riding their road bike is walking. Still on foot here @Qantas with no movement on the bike. Enjoying the weekend walks as a welcome alternative but it has been a week now…
Day 6: leaving Perth, always liked the city. Interesting that tech themes across miners, universities, banks, SPs so consistent on security, efficiency, CO2, app transforms and multi-cloud. Bye Perth, would have loved to ride some of the fab coastal paths but next time @Qantas
Trip update: I’m 5 days in, still waiting for @Qantas to have all my luggage on the same continent as me - resorting to the Twitter embarrassing story strategy as phones don’t seem to work. AirTags are 💯% excellent tech though
Today as I depart London for a 4-week long business trip, I’m undertaking an important piece of research for men everywhere. Essentially can I survive on one suitcase of clothes for a month ? I think we all know the answer is yes, the open question is if they’ll let me come back?
Boarding my mobile home for the next 17 hours, there is no dorsal radome to be seen on this modern, sleek Boeing 787 so it’ll be a long offline flight, with no connection to the outside world. Looking at you here @Qantas
Her: let’s plant 1,000 trees on that hillside Him: cool, less grass to mow and no future work for me either …15 years pass happily… Her: let’s talk about our pollarding strategy Him: that’s not even a real word, <checks Google>, dammit 🤬
