So I know he's more often shown with the cigarette in his right hand... But ever since I saw him on this cover and have the cigarette in his left hand, and then have a pistol in his right, I've started to headcanon that Patterson's ambidextrous. Do with that what you will. 😶

Patstrade becomes a little more tragic if you consider that Lestrade knew Patterson for years but was never aware of his affiliation with the Lord of Crime. He kept that secret from his best friend and partner for so long, and I wonder how Lestrade must’ve felt if he did find out
