🚨CSS News CSS Trigonometric Functions just landed in Firefox, are available in Safari and are slated to land in Chromium soon (tentatively version 111). What are they?
One of my friends spoke out about her experience with Modern Frontends. I have some things to say too. It seems like a lot of people do. cassie.codes/posts/modern-f…
Just bought a domain for the job board I'm building just for junior dev, still not a lot to show but working on it 💪 juniordevelopersjobs.com #vercel @AWSAmplify
Ever wondered how a QR code works? No, me neither but it's low-key fascinating. (Warning, there is some extremely nerdy shit here.👇 )
Tip: It's powerful for senior engineers to admit when they don’t know something. You can learn from others who do. This normalizes admitting where you have knowledge gaps (but want to learn) and is healthy for teams to see.
💡@nextjs tip: `next/link` will soon no longer require manually adding an `<a>` tag as a child. You can opt-in today with a flag before this becomes the default in the next major version. More details → github.com/vercel/next.js…

I'm often asked why I don't use a fancy ligature font and this is exactly why. Fine to use on your own, but it creates tripping hazards. I once had gitlens on during a workshop and the learner typed "2 days ago" as part of the code we were writing.
Ligatures are unnecessary. Don’t use them when teaching others.
A short thread of things companies claim are perks but are actually not (taken from real job ads for sake of demonstration):

I think we should stop telling people to use git add . It is dangerous to use the "." and also not good practice Be specific about the files/folders you want to add
PSA: number inputs have a `.valueAsNumber` property that you may find handy
PSA: please stop using strings concatination to create and edit URLs in JS All major browsers have great built-in functionality for URL parsing & manipulation:
Hot take: "full stack developer" is a scam created by the tech industry to get one developer to do three jobs (front end, backend, devops) for the pay of one dev. Being a generalist is good. But.... have you tried doing all three of those things lately? It's... a lot.
