Thank you for posting @benwikler. When my partner @alisonbetty and I created this ad for the DSCC, along with the brilliant Joe Brener in ‘17-the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Until now. The GOP plan will terminate health care for millions of seniors, veterans, and kids.
This is my favorite modern political ad. It was exactly right, eight years ago. It's exactly right again today.

So proud of our friends and partners @P4AD, @AARP, and @Arnold_Ventures for their tireless efforts to make drug prices more affordable. Would not have been possible without their passion, smarts, and investments.#InflationReductionAct.
BREAKING: ELECTION IMPACT 2022 Elections go from GOP +1 (45-46%) to Dems +16 (52-36%) when the choice is a Dem who backs Medicare negotiation for lower drug prices v. a Republican opposed. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
[/3] @Arnold_Ventures’ new video on high prices and what they mean for consumers and patients explores this issue further. Watch now: bit.ly/3uYLsVX
[2/] Higher prices = higher premiums, higher out-of-pocket costs, and lower wages. That means less money in our wallets and deeper debt, especially for those who can least afford it.
For all the debate over how to lower health care costs, here’s one bipartisan victory that’s worth mentioning + protecting. The No Surprises Act became law this year and will put a stop to predatory surprise medical bills…AND its wildly popular with Rs and Ds across the US.
Lowering health care costs is a priority for Americans across the political aisle. A new YouGov poll commissioned by @Arnold_Ventures found 92% of Americans support the No Surprises Act, a new law to eliminate surprise medical billing for consumers. ➡️ bit.ly/3IBI4WI
This is right. We must negotiate lower prices & cap annual price increases if we're going to limit out of pocket costs. Otherwise we're just cost-shifting; patients will pay higher premiums and taxes. Reforms before Senate get it right by dealing w/ both sides of the equation.
Capping out of pocket cost of insulin are terrific for patients but not necessarily going to reduce the actual cost of this ancient therapy @_ACHP
.@POTUS again urged passage of legislation to let Medicare negotiate and lower drug prices. Reforms are supported by all 50 Dem senators. 90% of voters say drug pricing is a top issue for the midterms. It's time for the Senate to pass these reforms thru reconciliation. #SOTU
“Let’s let Medicare negotiate the price of prescription drugs.” AARP agrees, Mr. President.
