We have a new phone number! (Please make note that our old phone number will remain active through the month of January.)
God's provided a new place for us to meet! Many of you know we are losing our lease and have been looking for about a year now for a new church location. This is right downtown close to the Paseo. We are excited to see what God will do in this new year!
In the kingdom of the world, the strong survive by preying on the weak. But in Christ's kingdom, the weak survive by the self-sacrifice of the strong. ~Dustin Smetona Sunday's message: Unity and Diversity in the Church ow.ly/ZT0450jOGrE
Application question for Sunday's sermon: “What is currently adorning my life that is not in keeping with someone who belongs to God and wants to live in His presence?”
Home is not about location or permanence of the building. It is about God’s presence with His people. In light of our imminent move, the most important thing about us is not the building where we meet - but that God's presence is with us.
The temple theme in Scripture is found in: The Garden of Eden, The Tabernacle, Solomon's Temple, Jesus (His body), The New Jerusalem - the Holy City. These are all about the same thing; a place where God and man can live together; the ultimate home.
God dwelling with man is the beginning and end of the Bible- making this “temple” theme a real summary of the entire Bible.
“The great passion of God’s heart, as revealed from Genesis to Revelation, is to be at home with his people in a place where nothing can separate or alienate or contaminate, enjoying a face-to-face relationship of pure joy... ~ Nancy Guthrie “Even Better than Eden”

What Should We Pray For?
Paying attention to what the early church prayed for can help keep your prayer life from falling into a rut.
We are celebrating those who are making a declaration of their faith and their new life in Christ this morning!
Application of Sunday’s sermon: How do you respond when you feel like you can’t see or feel God? How does impatience, discontent and lack of trust manifest in your life? How can you guard against the downward spiral of the Israelites?
“The [golden calf] gave no law and demanded no obedience. It had no wrath or justice or holiness to be feared...But at least it couldn’t intrude on their fun and call them to judgment. This was a religion designed by men, practiced by men, and ultimately useless for men.” ~Sproul
From Sunday's Sermon: Understanding the downward spiral of the Israelites: discontentment, impatience, spiritual dullness, idolatry, legitimizing and excusing sin, ending in debauchery -helps us guard our hearts when we are in a season of waiting.
The result of the Israelites' impatience with waiting on God was foolish, false and faithless worship of idols. Sunday Sermon: bit.ly/2RCBOmy
