I am trying to remember how to access/get a "hobbyist" vSphere license to test/practice some things. @kleegeek or @SQLHA have any thoughts? #sqlhelp #sqlfamily
Thanks guys... Was starting wonder if I needed to go see if Nutanix had a dev/eval license ;p
Just use Hyper-V. Built into the OS. Works a treat if you want free.
Yeah, Hyper-V keeps getting better and better. Virtualization is important but the future is HCI imo. @Kleegeek pointed out the license I was remembering for vSphere. Dev/free ver are great for self-dev but not all will do that.
S2D is Hyperconverged. Can't do that with W10 but can with Windows Server eval/MSDN. Not sure why you think H-V doesn't have HCI.
Wow...cause I haven't worked with it in a while, guess I am a little/lot out of touch with how good Hyper-V has become
