SRE Manager. 3D printing. UA war vet. US Army vet. Russian linguist.

We're hiring for a hybrid position in KC. Oncall a week per month. The primary systems you'd work on would be Windows in an Azure cloud computing environment with terraformed deployments, New Relic/PD, week sprints with standups(15min) and monthly retros. wellsky.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/WellSkyCareers…

Well, simple to say. It's not as easy to do. But it's worth it. And progress is the way to get better.

Deep friendships come from giving up ones that don't work for you. A prosperous career begins with giving up diversions & alternatives. Loving relationships occur when giving up incompatible people. A long, healthy life comes from giving up crap that destroys your body. Simple.

I organize a Danish Azure DevOps community, and this question is a reoccurring topic. We have had insiders from both GutHub and the Azure DevOps team confirm that neither product is going away, but we will see increased collaboration. E.g the security features is an example

If PagerDuty is acquired we will have to stay attentive to cost increases and support levels.

I read through some of the transcript. Yes, cloud first is the answer with this new expense. That said, I expect support and innovation to decrease in VMWare while costs skyrocket.

I'm encouraging some of architecture teams to do this even if in very shorthand. It's best to know that we discussed a topic and made a decision even if it's to defer until we prioritize it.

We think of automation as a contemporary concept but this machine proves we’ve been doing it for decades.

you should negotiate always. even if you don't get more financially you learn more about who you'll be working with.

Everything is negotiable I have always negotiated & I tell my friends to do the same. If you don't believe you deserve 60K, you won't get it Think, then prove you worth. Most of it comes from data, your previous work is a good metric of how much tangible value you generated.

I use FitBod for this, but generally I think this sentiment is correct. You already need to rest between sets, so at least log what you're up to and dedicate an hour a month to review results, adjust program, etc.

I love to see opensource continuing to produce the tools we need. Not everyone can afford enterprise grade support but everyone needs reliable and secure systems or else the premise of the internet fails.
