I got rejected by 144 investors before raising $150M for my $200M+ rev/year startup. After 144 rejections, I started questioning our approach. Were we solving the right problem? What were we doing wrong? Why weren’t investors seeing what we were seeing? Were we the right…

OK, hear me out on this one. 10 hour days. 100 minutes / hour. 100 seconds / minute. Noon is 5:00. Midnight = 0:00 or 10:00. Base-12/60 time is a Babylonian fossil. Just because they didn't figure it out during the French Revolution doesn't mean it can't be done.

Fear is a bad policy. Risk management is a good policy. Startups that are panicking and operate based on fear probably weren’t good investments to start with. Startups are typically most adaptive and competitive segment in any industry. I’m a bit surprised you are getting…

Kinda obvious and yet most businesses are missing this step. Diving straight into AI adoption and tinkering with any tech is fun, it could also be business impactful

Don’t start with the tech — start with your business. • What problems do you want to solve? • Where do you want to improve: efficiency, revenue, CX, or growth? Clarity here makes everything else easier. (7/12)

Nothing will move forward without action. Be the doer. At the earliest stages of a startup, having doers is crucial. It's about people who execute, try things, and get things done. Experience, background, and connections mean nothing if there's no action. Listen to more insight

Of all the algorthms you learn in CS, who would have thought Topological Sort would be the one to continuously spawn billion dollar companies?

Right on. And this is why you should hire full stack cross functional startup product managers when building out your brand new startup. Those who understand interlocking between departments and functions and can move things forward with bare bones teams and budgets.

Some of my most bone-headed (and insanely expensive) mistakes have been hiring fancy people from big Fortune 500 corporate gigs and putting them in charge of smaller companies. There’s a saying, “You can take the man out of IBM, but you can’t take the IBM out of the man.”…
