Two days in Brussels this week. In equal parts inspirational and daunting to engage with those at the sharp end of decision-making. Really important to emphasise that our small islands have much to bring to the table and must have a voice when the decisions made impact on us.

Pleased to have engaged with performing arts students @thegsyinstitute and then to be invited to the performance of 13 - part of the Level 3 and Level 4 assessment process. A challenging and thought-provoking piece of theatre.

A cultural extravaganza for me this weekend - first visiting Chris George: 50 Years of Faces exhibition at Candie Museum, an absolute must and then Charlie Buchanan's exquisite show, Swimmers and Other Stories, at the Saumarez Park gallery. Don't miss them!

A strong presentation from The Guernsey Employment Trust (GET) this morning, featuring some of their clients and celebrating 10 years of demonstrable commissioning value for the island.

Congratulations to all involved in moving the air display to an evening slot. The weather was kind and the crowds were out. The pilots did not disappoint!

I'm looking forward to the Whispers of Freedom premiere this Friday, a Cold War biopic film written and directed by Brandon Ashplant. Centred on the Berlin Wall, 90 per cent of it was shot in Guernsey. sogscuba.gov.gg/scuba6/stellar…

Horace, I used to run a business. I know that people don't come for free.

That's different as long as it is clearly ring fenced against any public money ever going towards it. And no expensive officer time is devoted to it in any particular manner. I know all you deputies believe the officers come free which is why you never include their costs in cost…

This is great. I wonder if we should also offer free basic French conversation classes to anybody who wants them so that we can be friendlier and more welcoming? Personally, I'm fine after a day or so in France but I'm brushing up on it as I'm a little rusty!

Another positive step to provide better experience for our French visitors accessing information in our key historic locations. Guernsey museum material translated into French bbc.com/news/articles/…

A great few hours in the sunshine at Vale Earth Fair - ukuladeez, buff hudd and the risk all great but Eloise Fabbri and excellent band topped them all.
