Today, I am wrapping up the last day of my term with a busy day in Trenton. It has been a privilege and an honor. Thank you and God Bless.
After 16 years of service on the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, Senator Oroho participated in his last committee meeting of his elected term last week alongside his colleagues in the Legislature.
This legislation will help farmers throughout New Jersey & I’m proud that it passed the Senate today. This bill amends the Right to Farm Act to clarify that farms selling firewood are not subject to municipal land use laws or regulations by municipalities. senatenj.com/index.php/dist…
To help address the EMT shortage in New Jersey, my bill would shift the focus for training reimbursement—from requiring the EMS squad to be all volunteer, to ensuring the EMTs who are trained work as volunteers in some capacity. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
May your day be filled with happiness and gratitude. From my family to yours, #HappyThanksgiving!
On #VeteransDay, we honor the brave men and women whose service has helped protect this great nation and the freedoms we hold dear. We thank you for your outstanding service and sacrifice!
While our policy positions would often conflict, George was considerate and never let situations deescalate on a personal level. I was also appreciative of his accessibility and especially his willingness to assist on constituent service matters. senatenj.com/index.php/sena…
S-3255 is a win-win for NJ because re-using highway materials is a sensible solution that will reduce the cost of highway projects. S-1884 will also build public trust by allowing New Jerseyans to read—in layman’s terms—the financial status of the state. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
We will never forget the victims who lost their lives 22 years ago during the Sept. 11 attacks & the countless acts of incredible valor demonstrated by so many. As we pause & reflect on this day, let us honor the memory of those who perished & keep their families in our prayers.
The action by the NJ Fish and Game Council is warranted and I hope the Murphy Administration will continue to follow the data as they rightfully did last year and allow the wildlife conservation experts to guide New Jersey’s bear management policies. senatenj.com/index.php/dist…
Democrats released some budget resolutions on the Friday before Labor day which they claim brings transparency for the $1 billion of pork added to the budget at the last minute. What they released, however, was whitewashed of any explanation of how the money will be spent.
The Republican members of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee are once again calling on Democrats to release all budget resolutions with explanations about how the money will be spent, just as they were submitted. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
We believe that the Division of Lottery is misinterpreting state law and does not have the authority to authorize online lottery sales. We’ll be monitoring their decision very closely tomorrow and are prepared to introduce a legislative remedy if this proposal is approved.
Sen. Oroho & Sen. O'Scanlon offered support for retail licensed lottery agents after the lottery commission said they would consider a proposal to approve online lottery ticket sales. "We must protect small businesses and consumers," said the senators. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
Gov. Codey was a man of extraordinary skill as a legislator who served our state with distinction and was New Jersey to the core. He loves our state and the people and places that make it up and used his time in gov't to try to make it better for everyone. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
We have a responsibility to provide New Jerseyans fair and transparent elections. This law and today’s action by ELEC shows that Governor Murphy and Trenton Democrats shirked that responsibility. senatenj.com/index.php/oroh…
The State Board of Education's decision to remove equality is not only misguided, but it ignores the fact that students have fallen behind in critical subjects. Replacing equal opportunities with equitable outcomes does the opposite of educating students. nj.com/education/2023…
