Author/Songwriter/writer of disturbing Novels about those who are misunderstood.

Can anybody recommend a good biography or autobiography? Musicians, actors, writers, artists are of particular interest. I usually read novels but not m about to start working on the first redraft of my latest novel and don’t want the distraction of other writer’s work.

Finished a fourth edit of my novel about three hours ago. Very happy with it. I’ve just gone back to add three sentences. I must leave it now. Give it a few weeks.

And that’s any form of art.

If we spent as much time teaching people to interact with autistic children as we do teaching autistic children to interact with others, the world would be a better place

I’ve been editing my WIP for the last two weeks and have found myself mentally changing the novel I’m reading. Richard Russo, great writer, but that paragraph could be reduced to two sentences and there’s repetition for effect and repeating. #@FaberAcademy

‘Easy reading is damned hard writing’. Who said that? Me this morning struggling with my latest novel.

First proper edit. Yesterday my novel was brilliant. Today it’s meandering rubbish.

Writers, what part of the journey do you enjoy the most? The concept, the note making, the writing, the edit, the meetings with agents, the editors and the publishers. Or the launch, the finished book on the shelves and the aftermath - whatever that may be?

Always start your book with a good opening.

And just like over the last few years we seem to have polarised ideas of what’s right and wrong. Is it just me?

I wrote the last sentence of my latest novel today. The long edit will begin tomorrow. That time when you marvel for a moment at your own brilliance and then wonder what the hell that chapter is even there for. Onwards and upwards dear friends.

Someone is only totally dead when nobody speaks their name. Discuss.

‘The Doctor’ with Juliet Stevenson: powerful insightful, cerebral and brilliant.

I’ve about 2,000 words to go before I’ve finished my first draft. I’m almost excited and looking forward to the editing process. Huzzah.
