It’s time to listen to the staff who are dealing with excessive levels of life threatening violence on a daily basis. We don’t need academic theory, we don’t need reform groups , we need urgent action before one of my colleagues is murdered on duty. Things must change.

The Ministry of Justice and HMPPS have a duty of care to staff working in the justice system. They must come forward with a clear and urgent plan to address the rates of violence in prisons and the attacks on our members.
Stopping the mad proliferation of non jobs in the bureaucratic class at HM Prison and Probation Service while the operational point of the organisation at the front line withers and dies is probably 'mission impossible.' But I'd use it as a test case. thetimes.com/article/b64e06…
