It was laughable then and still is! @WWDACT @PWDACT2

He was minister for Women too #qanda

More action needed for diverse workforce in flexible workplaces #equalpay. @WGEAgency monitoring & reporting essential 2 equation. @wwdact @PWDACT2 @Adv4Inclusion

A cause 4 cautious hope that #equalpayday comes just 2 months after EOFY? More hard work 2 get flexible workplaces that foster diversity. Women with disabilities need economic security too. Their equal pay day still months away.@WWDACT @ACTCOSS @PWDACT2 @eraaustralia @NFAWomen

Celebrate leadership of young Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women following footsteps of their mums. Yep. #BecauseOfHerWeCan Happy NAIDOC week. Pride in achievements. Courage to consolidate. I like this theme. @OurWatchAus @sudata1 @PWDACT2 @ACTCOSS

Happy NAIDOC Week! We love this video from Koorie Youth Council of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people talking about what this year's NAIDOC theme 'Because of Her, We Can' means to them. #BecauseOfHerWeCan

What a heatbreaking statistic! With farcical consequence for those people not disabled enough for the DSP but too disabled to land a job. Restore respect. #raisetherate

The number of people with a disability or illness who are on lower Newstart Allowance has increased from 100,000 in 2012 to 180,500 in 2017. Newstart is now $178 pw less than the Disability Support Pension. That’s 180,000 reasons to #RaisetheRate #auspol

As an antidote to Leyonhjelm, i reckon @Hannahgadsby's 'Nanette' puts white male privilege in perspective, and creates a place 4 respect. Re-enervating for all ostracised by otherness. All power to valuing diversity. @WWDACT @OurWatchAus @eraaustralia @PWDACT2 @BonnieMillen

Many women with disabilities are caught in the #NewStart net. Costs of disability drastically erode $39 perday. Discrimination limits job prospects. Unsustainable & unjust. It costs both individual & society. #raisetherate. @WWDACT @OurWatchAus @eraaustralia

'I often don’t eat enough, as I make sure the kids are fed first. Sleep often eludes me, as I lie awake for countless hours wondering how I’m going to pay the rent and bills and provide my kids with new winter wardrobes,' says Tara. theguardian.com/australia-news… #auspol #RaisetheRate

Because of Her, We Can!! What a great theme to celebrate NAIDOC week from 8-15 July. Resilient Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander trail blazing women have maintained vigils 2 minimise violence in communities. I salute you. @OurWatchAus @WWDACT @FPDNAus @YWCACanberra

#qanda. Live captioning of this program is essential. Guaranteed no Deaf person is watching.

We are not surprised! Listen to the cries of people with disabilities who are not dead yet. The violence must be stopped. 1 death every 3 months at the hand of people who we describe as carers. Murder is murder. @PWDACT2 @WWDACT @ANROWS @OurWatchAus @DVCSACT @CRCC

My first pic of #lightrail in #CBR. Looks great! Cant wait! Fingers x-d all those disability consultation pay off 4 a new era for wwd getting to/from gunghalin & city economically.. @pwdact @wwdact @EmilyJ_Steel @BonnieMillen @ABarrMLA @HChristinaR

Sombre weekend reading. Australian Domestic & Family Violence Death Review Report. Women with disabilities at least 5% of intimate partner homicides. We need to change this story Australia-wide @WWDACT @OurWatchAus @YWCACanberra @ACTCOSS @LifelineAust

Well said!! @EmilyJ_Steel on ABC AM. Keeping focus on cultural change through NDIS is crucial, plus bureaucracy needs overhaul so appropriate assistive technologies can be supplied. @wwdact @PWDACT2 @BonnieMillen @ACTCOSS @ANUHD

Outsourcing NDIS call centres 2 Serco is bad at many levels. Existing call centres with disability focus could have been the default 1st consideration. An organisation that knows how to spell ethics would also be good.

sue salthouse reposted

I’m late to this party... & definitely going to assume that SERCO is currently racking their brains on how they can bring lived experience of disabilities into their workplace. The NDIS will be worthless if people with disabilities aren’t at its core! ndis.gov.au/news/contact-c…
